The Africa Go Green Fund, managed by Cygnum Capital, has provided an additional US$18m debt facility to electric motorcycle company Spiro, doubling its total commitment to US$36m. The increase was announced on 21 September 2026.
The proceeds will expand motorcycle deployment and battery-swapping infrastructure, including large swap stations, in Uganda and Rwanda. Spiro operates in Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda among other markets and says it has deployed more than 135,000 electric motorcycles. Nithio provided US$7m as part of the original December 2025 facility.
