The Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA) signed a US$100m trade finance facility agreement with the Government of The Gambia, announced on 2 September 2026. It is BADEA’s second such facility for the country.
The facility will fund imports of strategic commodities and essential consumables for food security, and other national priorities. Finance Minister Seedy Keita said it reflected The Gambia’s growing capacity to engage partners of this kind.
