Two leading Nigerian law firms, Ikeyi Shitty & Co. and Olaniwun Ajayi LP are playing central advisory roles in the development and financing of Kasi Cloud AI-ready hyperscale data centre project in Lekki, reflecting how sophisticated legal structuring is becoming increasingly critical to Africa’s emerging digital infrastructure market.
Ikeyi Shittu & Co. is serving as corporate and governance counsel to Kasi Cloud, with the firm’s Managing Partner, Nduka Ikeyi, also sitting on the company’s board. The role places the firm at the centre of the project’s regulatory, governance and institutional framework as the company scales one of Nigeria’s most ambitious cloud infrastructure developments.
Separately, Olaniwun Ajayi LP advised Africa Finance Corporation on the structuring of a $12 million senior secured convertible loan facility backing the project’s expansion phase. The financing structure highlights the increasingly complex legal architecture underpinning African technology infrastructure transactions, particularly those involving institutional and development finance capital.
The facility, located in Lekki and positioned near major subsea cable infrastructure including Equiano and 2Africa, forms part of a broader push toward local cloud capacity and AI infrastructure development in Nigeria. The project is designed to scale to 100MW of capacity.
For Nigeria’s legal market, the mandates signal how top-tier firms are becoming increasingly embedded within technology infrastructure projects, not only as transaction counsel but as long-term strategic and governance advisers in sectors where capital, regulation and national digital priorities are converging.
